The problem

Tired of Plastic Parts That Soften and Fail?

When a part sits near heat, melts under load, or cracks in service, the material was wrong. Few factories still run thermoset molding well.

  • Thermoset tooling, molding and finishing under one roof
  • Free DFM review before the mold is cut
  • Factory-direct pricing with no middleman markup
  • Inspection data with every batch

With YiguProto as your China manufacturer and supplier, you get one accountable partner from quote to delivery.

The basics

What Is Thermosetting Molding?

Thermoset molding starts with a plastic powder or a soft preform. It is pushed into a hot mold and heated. The heat makes the plastic cross-link and set for good.

Here is the key point. A thermoset part cannot be melted again. Heat it later and it stays hard. That is why it keeps its shape in hot, harsh places where other plastics go soft.

It is the opposite of thermoplastic molding. Thermoplastic uses a hot material and a cold mold. Thermoset uses a cold material and a hot mold.

How a thermoset molding cycle works, step by step.

Holds its shape when hot

Parts stay rigid at temperatures where thermoplastics soften and creep.

Rigid and stable

Low creep and tight dimensional stability, so fits stay tight for years.

Safe for electricity

Excellent electrical insulation and flame resistance. Built for switchgear.

Resists chemicals

Handles oils, fuels and solvents that eat through other plastics.

Thermoset vs Thermoplastic: What Is the Difference?

Short answer: thermoplastic can be melted again, thermoset cannot. Everything else follows from that.

Processes

Four Ways We Mold Thermoset Parts

We pick the process that fits your part shape, your volume and your budget.

Thermoset injection molding

The fastest of the three. Short cycles and less waste. Best for medium to high volumes.

Compression molding

Material is pressed into a heated mold. Great for large, thick parts and short runs.

Transfer molding

Material flows through a runner into a closed mold. Good for inserts and tight details.

BMC and SMC molding

Glass-filled compounds for strong, stiff parts with good surface finish.

One-stop service

Everything After the Mold, From the Same Factory

Complete molding solutions from one factory. No handoffs between vendors, and no parts stuck in someone else's queue.

Deflashing and finishing

We remove flash and give every part a clean, even edge before it ships.

Post-bake and heat treating

Baking, annealing and normalizing to stabilize the part and lock in its strength.

Machining and tapping

Drilling, tapping and milling after the part is cured, to your drawing.

Inserts and assembly

Threads, metal inserts and bonded assemblies, delivered ready to use.

Cost control

Four Design Choices That Cut Your Part Cost

Most of your part cost is decided before the first shot. Our engineers check all four for free.

Keep walls uniform

Thick sections cure slower and can crack. Even walls cure evenly and hold tolerance.

Add draft angles

Parts release cleanly from a hot mold and come out without drag marks.

Think about the gate

Where the material enters decides the flow and where weak knit lines form.

Round the corners

Sharp corners concentrate stress. Radii spread the load and stop cracks.

FAQ

Thermosetting Molding — Frequently Asked Questions

A plastic powder or preform is heated inside the mold. The heat makes it cross-link and set permanently. Once cured, the part cannot be melted again.
Thermoplastics soften when heated and can be remelted. Thermosets cure once and stay hard. Thermosets handle higher heat and hold their shape better.
Phenolic (PF), epoxy, polyester, vinylester, melamine, urea, DAP, and glass-filled BMC and SMC. Tell us what the part must do and we will suggest one.
Typical lead time is 15 to 25 business days after the mold is approved. Simple parts can move faster, and we confirm the date on your quote.
There is no strict MOQ. We support low-volume bridge runs and high-volume production from the same factory.
Yes. Our engineers check wall thickness, draft angles, gate location and cure behaviour, then send a free DFM report with your quote.
Yes. We sign an NDA on request. Your files stay in our secure internal system, and your mold is never used for another customer.
Yes. We ship to the USA, Canada, the UK, the EU, Australia, Japan and 40+ other countries by DHL, FedEx, UPS or sea freight.
