Why Choose Forging?

Stop settling for weak castings and slow suppliers

When your part needs to handle heavy loads, high pressure, or extreme conditions, forging is the answer.

Forged metal is stronger than cast metal. The grain flow follows the shape of the part, giving it better fatigue strength and impact resistance. At YiguProto, we are a China manufacturer and supplier with over a decade of experience producing high-quality forged components for OEM buyers worldwide.

  • Factory-direct pricing — no middleman markup, no hidden fees
  • One accountable partner — from forging and heat treatment to machining and inspection
  • ISO-certified quality — full material certificates, dimensional reports, and traceability
  • Free DFM feedback — our engineers review your design before you commit

What Is Forging?

Heated, shaped, and strengthened

A simple explanation of how forging works and why it delivers superior parts.

Forging is the process of heating a metal billet until it is soft — but not melted — and then shaping it with compressive force from a die or press. This aligns the grain structure of the metal along the contours of the part, making it significantly stronger than cast or machined-from-bar alternatives.

The result is a component with excellent fatigue strength, impact resistance, and reliability under load. Forged parts are the go-to choice for critical applications where failure is not an option.

At our China factory, we control every step of the process in-house: heating, forging, heat treatment, machining, and final inspection. You get one supplier, one quality system, and one point of contact.

Hot Forging

Metal is heated above its recrystallization temperature for complex shapes with excellent grain flow.

Cold Forging

Metal is shaped at room temperature. Less waste, better surface finish, ideal for high-volume runs.

Our Forging Processes

Four processes, one expert supplier

We match the right forging method to your part geometry, material, and order volume.

Open Die Forging

Best for large, simple shapes like bars, rings, and blanks. The metal is compressed between flat or shaped dies without fully enclosing it. Ideal for low to medium volumes and heavy industrial parts.

Closed Die Forging

Metal is squeezed into a fully enclosed die cavity. This produces near-net-shape parts with tight tolerances and minimal material waste. Perfect for high-volume production runs.

Hot Forging

Heating above recrystallization allows complex geometries with superior grain flow. Best for steel, titanium, and large structural components that demand maximum strength.

Cold Forging

Shaping at room temperature. Delivers excellent surface finish, tight tolerances, and minimal scrap. Ideal for screws, fasteners, pins, and high-volume steel parts.

Why Forging Wins

When forging beats casting and machining

A clear look at why engineers choose forged components for critical parts.

Forging vs. Casting

  • Forged parts have no porosity, shrinkage, or internal voids
  • Superior fatigue strength and impact resistance
  • Better consistency from part to part
  • Cleaner surface finish with less post-processing needed

Forging vs. Machining from Bar Stock

  • Less material waste — near-net shape reduces scrap
  • Lower cost at volume once tooling is in place
  • Grain flow follows the part shape for added strength
  • Faster production cycles for high-quantity orders

Best-fit forged parts

Shafts, couplings, rings, gears, flanges, bushings, pins, fasteners, brackets, valve components, and forged blanks for CNC machining.
