Smart Wearable Manufacturing — Custom Parts from China

Wearables live on skin, all day, for years. The parts inside must be tiny, light, comfortable, and tough — with finishes that still look new after a summer of sweat. We make custom components for smartwatches, fitness bands, earbuds, and health monitors, from first prototype to repeat production.

CNC machining, 3D printing, injection molding, and sheet metal — four proven processes from one factory-direct supplier, with skin-safe materials and precise sealing know-how.

How we help

Why Smart Wearable Teams Choose YiguProto

Micro-Part Precision

Wearable parts are measured in millimetres and fractions of a millimetre. We machine plastic and metal micro-structures without warping thin walls — and we verify every critical dimension before it ships.

Skin-Safe Materials

Parts touch skin for hours a day. We help you select hypoallergenic, low-odour grades — and we finish metal parts so nickel release and sharp edges never reach the wearer.

Sealing & Sweat Know-How

We engineer sealing grooves, snap fits, and drainage channels for IP67 and IP68 — rated under sweat, rain, and swim, not just a lab test.

Engineering & DFM Support

Our engineers review wall thickness, draft angles, sealing grooves, and assembly tolerances before you cut tooling — at no extra cost.

One-Stop, Prototype to Volume

CNC machining, 3D printing, injection molding, and sheet metal under one roof. Start with 20 wear-test samples, scale to 100,000 units — same supplier, same quality.

Your Designs Stay Yours

All files and ideas are treated as confidential. We sign NDAs whenever you need one — before you send a single drawing.

Four Ways We Build Wearable Parts

Not sure which process fits your part? Start here. Each card shows what the process does best and the wearable components we make with it.

CNC Machining

Parts cut from solid metal. Best when a part must be tiny, strong, and beautiful — watch cases, crowns, and buckles. No tooling for prototypes.

Typical parts:

  • Watch cases, mid-frames, and lugs
  • Crowns, buttons, and bezels
  • Buckles, clasps, and clasp pins
  • Sensor covers and lens retainers
See CNC details →

3D Printing

Parts built layer by layer from your CAD file. The fastest way to test ergonomics on real wrists and ears — no molds, no cutting tools.

Typical uses:

  • Appearance models and sales samples
  • Wear-test housings for fit and comfort
  • Ergonomic studies for grips and bands
  • Low-volume and custom-fit parts
See 3D printing details →

Injection Molding

Plastic parts made in volume. The production route for housings, clips, and buttons — millions of identical parts at a low unit cost.

Typical parts:

  • Internal frames and structural brackets
  • Button pads and switch covers
  • Light guides and lens windows
  • Strap clips and TPE overmolded grips
See molding details →

Sheet Metal Fabrication

Flat metal cut, bent, and welded into parts. The go-to choice for the hardware around your wearable — docks, stands, and steel buckles that need heft.

Typical parts:

  • Charging docks and device stands
  • Steel buckles and clasps
  • Internal mounting plates and shields
  • Protective covers and brackets

Solution 01

CNC Machining for Smart Wearables

CNC machining cuts a part out of a solid block of metal. A computer-controlled tool removes everything that is not the part. What stays is small, strong, and finished to a premium look.

This is how watch cases, crowns, and buckles are made when they must feel solid and survive years of wear. The challenge is scale: these parts are thin, and thin parts move when you cut them. We control that with layered roughing, stress relief, and low-stress fixtures.

What we machine for wearables

  • Watch cases, mid-frames, and back covers
  • Crowns, buttons, and rotating bezels
  • Buckles, clasps, and strap connectors
  • Sensor windows and lens retainers
  • Prototype parts before tooling exists

Common materials

Titanium TC4 / TA2316L stainless steel6061 / 7075 aluminumPEEK / POMCeramic (ZrO2)

Titanium is light, strong, and skin-friendly — the choice for premium cases. Stainless 316L takes scratches and shines after polishing. For sealing grooves, micro holes, and snap features we use small dedicated tools and single-setup machining so the position stays exact. Every edge is chamfered and deburred — nothing sharp touches skin.

Molded button pads and internal frames

Solution 02

Injection Molding for Smart Wearables

Injection molding makes plastic parts in volume. Plastic pellets are melted and injected into a steel mold. The part cools, hardens, and pops out — identical every time.

This is the production route for everything plastic inside and around a wearable. We build multi-cavity molds with hot runners, so millions of buttons, frames, and covers come out consistent — same colour, same fit, same feel.

What we mold for wearables

  • Internal frames and structural brackets
  • Button pads and switch covers
  • Light guides and lens windows
  • Strap clips and adjustment buttons
  • Earbud tips and soft-touch grips with TPE overmolding

Common materials

PC / ABSPCPMMAPA66 (glass filled)TPU / TPEPP

Button pads get just the right click force — we tune wall thickness and silicone contact geometry. Earbud tips and grips use soft TPU overmolded onto a rigid core for a secure, comfortable fit. Colour and texture are matched to your approved master, batch after batch.

Fabricated charging dock, stand and steel buckle

Solution 03

Sheet Metal Fabrication for Smart Wearables

Sheet metal fabrication cuts, bends, and welds flat metal into a finished part. It is the natural choice when a part needs to be tough and heavy enough to stay put on a nightstand.

Wearables are small, but they come with accessories — charging docks, stands, and display boxes. Steel and aluminum give these parts weight, strength, and a premium look that plastic cannot match.

What we fabricate for wearables

  • Charging docks and device stands
  • Steel buckles, clasps, and frame parts
  • Internal mounting plates and shields
  • Protective covers and brackets
  • Counter-top display units and POS hardware

Processes & finishes

Laser cuttingCNC bendingWeldingPVD coatingPowder coatingPolishing

Stainless 304 and 316 hold a mirror polish and resist fingerprints. PVD adds gold, black, or rose-tone finishes that stay put. Every bend is checked, every edge is deburred — your dock should feel as good as the device it charges.

3D printed housing prototype for wear testing

Solution 04

3D Printing & Rapid Prototyping for Smart Wearables

3D printing builds a part layer by layer, straight from your CAD file. There are no molds and no cutting tools — just the file and the printer.

Wearable products live or die by comfort. A housing that looks right in CAD can pinch, rub, or slide on a real wrist. Print it, wear it, test it — then change the design. That loop takes days instead of weeks.

What we print for wearables

  • Appearance models for investors and trade shows
  • Wear-test housings for fit and comfort
  • Ergonomic studies for grips, straps, and bands
  • Assembly jigs and inspection fixtures
  • Low-volume and custom-fit parts

Processes we run

SLA (tough resin)MJF (nylon)DLPFDMSLM (metal)

SLA prints housings with smooth surfaces that paint and polish like production parts — ideal for photos and focus groups. Nylon (MJF) prints flexible, strong parts that survive wear testing. When the design is final, the same part moves to injection molding for volume.

FAQ

Smart Wearable Manufacturing — Frequently Asked Questions

Email your CAD files or drawings. Most quotes come back within a few hours on business days — never more than 24 hours. You will get one clear price, including material, finish, and inspection scope.
Yes. All customer files and ideas are treated as confidential. We sign NDAs whenever you need one — before you send a single drawing.
Yes. Our engineers review your design and suggest changes that cut cost, improve quality, or speed up delivery. Typical feedback covers wall thickness, sealing grooves, snap fits, draft angles, and assembly tolerances. This review is free.
For wearable parts, we support one-off prototypes and full production runs. There is no strict MOQ. Many customers order 10–50 housings for wear testing, then scale to thousands once the design is approved.
Yes. We use low-odour, hypoallergenic plastics and medical-grade grades for skin-contact parts. Metal parts are finished with anodizing, PVD, or electropolishing, and every edge is chamfered and deburred — so nickel release and sharp edges never reach the wearer.
Yes. We machine sealing grooves with dedicated forming tools so groove depth, width, and corner radius stay consistent. A small groove error can fail a seal, so we machine these features in a single setup and verify them on the first article — before you commit to tooling.
CNC machined, 3D printed, injection molded, and sheet metal parts — from prototypes to production. Common examples include watch cases, mid-frames, crowns, buckles, sensor covers, internal frames, button pads, light guides, strap clips, and charging docks.
We follow strict inspection and documentation processes, and we support the certifications and records your industry needs — including ISO 9001 quality management, material certificates, and first-article inspection reports on request. Every batch ships with an inspection report.
Thin walls warp when cutting stress builds up. We use layered roughing to spread the material removal, add a stress-relief step before finishing, and hold parts in soft or vacuum fixtures instead of hard clamps. The result is a flat, stable case — verified on the first article before the batch runs.
